About AMCA

Since 1980 the club for RC car racing in Apeldoorn, with its own asphalt circuit at Kanaal Zuid.

The circuit

AMCA has a circuit where all RC on-road cars can drive, whatever their scale or class, as long as they meet the noise requirements.

The track is about 5 metres wide and surrounded by plenty of grass, so damage to cars is kept to a minimum. That makes the circuit very accessible to every driver: young or old, experienced or not.

The track is about 243 metres long and has several timing loops. Sector and lap times are stored automatically and can be reviewed after driving, on our own practice computer or in an app. You can use our free Wi-Fi for this; you do need a transponder.

History

AMCA stands for Auto Modelbouw Club Apeldoorn (Apeldoorn Model Car Club). The club was founded many years ago by a group of keen RC drivers who dreamed of a place of their own and a proper circuit.

After years of lobbying the municipality and local businesses, the plans slowly got off the ground and construction began. Once the trees had been cleared and many cubic metres of soil and rubble moved, a level site remained where the asphalt track could be laid. In the years that followed, AMCA grew into the circuit it is today. To us, the finest in Europe!

None of this would have been possible without the perseverance of countless volunteers and sponsors, in every possible way. A few names that spring to mind: AMCA's founding father Ben Veeneman, John Langen and, for example, the entire Gerritsen family.

We can't list everyone from the past who has been important to the club – we would need a second website for that. But on behalf of today's volunteers and members: thank you for all the work, blood, sweat and tears (hopefully tears of laughter too) that went into it.

Thank you all!

Sponsors

Our club has a number of sponsors. Sponsorship can take many forms: offering services or products free of charge or at a reduced rate, or a financial contribution. As a club we are very grateful for every kind of support. Banners of the companies that sponsor AMCA hang along the track. Below is an overview with links to their websites.

Volunteers

As a volunteer you can really make a difference! Whether it's maintaining the track, organising races or helping new members find their way, your help is hugely appreciated. Together we keep our club strong and enjoyable.

AMCA asks all members to help out at the club. If that isn't possible, a contribution is charged at the end of the year and the jobs are outsourced.

Contribution if you can't help out: €50 per year.
